The Word as a Weapon

Proverbs 31 Ministries has a great online bible study that I am doing right now. It’s Lysa TerKeurst’s What Happens When Women Say Yes to God.

We are on Chapter 4, and our memory verse is John 15:4 – “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” One of my favorites, that causes me to spread my wings farther in His name…!

Prior to that, John 14:20 states “On that day, you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

Our great exercise was placing envelopes in each other as a visual to REMAIN in Christ. (My photo of my envelopes is below… I used clear envelopes because I’m such a visual learner, and I LOVE seeing all the layers!)

Life can get hard. BUT, we can’t stop – as much as we want to .. as much as the enemy cries to us that’s it’s so easy to give up, say that we can’t do this…

It’s SO easy to walk away. So easy to automatically label something as “toxic” because we don’t want to be involved and inconvenienced… For too long, I didn’t get rid of toxic, and now, I feel that I quickly label things as toxic out of avoidance.

Because it’s “Uncomfortable”.

Because it’s “Awkward”.

Because it’s “Inconvenient”.

BUT – doesn’t God call us into the deep – to spread His word and light?

Job 42:5 – “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.”

MY ears have heard – now my eyes have seen.

God opens our eyes a little – and sometimes a great deal wider than we are comfortable with, so that we may see, take in, and understand His plan.

LIFE CAN GET HARD! BUT – we cannot, we MUST not stop. For we remain in Christ. And that is not Uncomfortable, Awkward, or Inconvenient.

THAT is comfort. THAT is love. THAT is remaining safe, and tucked in to Jesus.
